NG Bailey has announced £19·7 million in profit before tax in the year to 24 February 2006, on a record turnover of £492 million, an increase of 21% over the previous year.

The company has invested heavily recently, including £5 million in the construction of a new manufacturing capability, Bailey Off-Site in Bradford. It has also acquired ceiling company Johnson Brothers, while Bailey Teswaine, the communications infrastructure business, has also expanded its ICT offering.

NG Bailey has completed a number of large projects in the last year, including Heathrow Pier Six to accommodate the Airbus 380 and work on the Scottish National Heritage project in Inverness.

Chief executive Mark Andrews said: “We have had an exceptional year and NG Bailey continues to go from strength to strength. Considerable investments have been made, which prove our commitment to a sustainable strategy for growth.
