NG Bailey has revealed a significant increase in annual pre-tax profits, following a significant restructure of the business.

The nationwide building services company saw profit before tax rise to £16.8 million in the year to 25 February 2005, on turnover of £406.6 million. Sales were up 6·4%.

Based in Yorkshire and employing 4000 people around the country, NG Bailey provides expertise in mechanical and electrical installation and maintenance, IT and telecommunications services.

Chief executive Mark Andrews joined the company in 2004 and has been responsible for the restructure. This includes the introduction of a new management team and the acquisition of Teswaine Business Communications to create Bailey Teswaine, a leading IT solutions provider.

Andrews said: “As a privately owned business, we take long term decisions in a range of areas, from developing propositions for emerging markets to investing heavily in the training and development of our people.

“With the company restructure and development of a five-year strategy we have made the first of many steps to build a stronger, more profitable business for the future.”
