Ian Simpson Architects has won an RIBA competition to design a £5m National Wildflower Centre in Knowsley, Merseyside
The architect’s submission envisages a compact conference centre inspired by the shape of a wild flower head. Landlife, the client, has aspirations to make the building achieve an “outstanding” BREEAM rating. Simpson’s team includes engineers Adams Kara Taylor and Hoare Lea and cost consultant Cyril Sweett.
