Eleven potential funding sources for the facility have been identified, and if gets the go-ahead, will be a multi-purpose stadium for local football and rugby teams with possible indoor tennis centre on the Pow Beck Valley site.

WYG has been commissioned by client Copeland Borough Council to compile a technical appraisal for the Pow Beck Valley site prior to submitting a planning application for the scheme.

The study is expected to be completed by the end of March, and if all goes to plan, an application for planning permission should be submitted around November, with a proposed construction period starting in Spring 2011.
