Consultant White Young Green (WYG) has acquired privately owned transport consultancy Savell Bird & Axon (SBA) for £18m.

The acquisition of SBA, which has a turnover of about £8m, is WYG’s fifth deal in 12 months, the most significant of which was engineer Adams Kara Taylor.

Lawrie Haynes, WYG’s chief executive, said: “Transportation consultancy is important for the development of WYG. The SBA team will be a good strategic fit for our multidisciplinary business.”

SBA’s schemes include the Croydon Gateway, Stevenage town centre, and football stadiums for Cardiff City and Brighton and Hove Albion.
