Two engineering consultancies have reported a positive start to the financial year
Engineering consultancies White Young Green and Waterman Group have reported strong starts to the financial year and said performance remains in line with expectations.
White Young Green said trading since July had been good and it continued to see strong demand across all business segments.
In a statement, it said: “We see significant opportunities to grow the business going forward and the acquisition pipeline remains strong.”
The firm added that the three acquisitions it has made this financial year are integrating well. Since July, it has bought Independent Transport Consultants, Management Consultants Group and PH McCarthy Consulting Engineers.
Waterman Group also reported a positive start to the year. The engineering and environmental consultancy said invoicing for the first quarter was up by 31% compared to the first quarter of last year and that international business continued to grow.
It added the contribution of mechanical and electrical consultancy Furness Green, which it acquired in September, had been as expected.
The group said: “Despite the ongoing uncertainty about the world economy, all sectors are currently performing well and your board views the present year with confidence.”
Under new transparency laws, companies are required to provide shareholders with management statements every quarter.
