WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff to inspect 336MW project

WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff has won a contract on a £1.5bn wind farm off the coast of Suffolk.

The consultant will provide inspection and surveillance planning services on the Galloper Offshore Wind Farm. The contract includes assurance, quality, control and audit services on the sub-sea high voltage cable as well as the offshore platform that are currently under construction.

The project is due to be operational by March 2018. It will have 56 wind turbines with a generating capacity of 336MW, and is expected to create 700 jobs during construction with a further 90 expected to created during operation.

Ian Matthews, head of project management at WSP PB’s quality services division said his firm is “proud” to be part of the project, which will be “crucial” for the region and “the whole of the UK.”
