Australian enivornmental project manager is the latest southern hemisphere business to be bought by WSP
Consultant WSP has announced the acquisition of Australian environmental project management consultancy Fitzwalter Group.
WSP will pay a total of £1.9m for the business, with £0.8m of this paid on completion. The move continues WSP’s expansion into the southern hemisphere, following recent acquisitions in Australia and South Africa.
Fitzwalter, based in Sydney, operates in the urban regeneration, contaminated land and environmental planning markets. Adjusted revenue and profit before tax for the year ended 31 December 2006 was AUD$2.5m (£1.1m) and AUD$750k (£300k) respectively.
Stuart McLachlan, global managing director of WSP Environmental, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Fitzwalter team into WSP and are enthusiastic about the opportunities that will be generated through the introduction of new skills and clients to our developing Australian business”.
