Watch it being tested
Dubai has begun testing the world’s tallest fountain. The Dubai Fountain will fire jets of water to heights of up to 500ft and will have 22,000 gallons of water in the air at any one time. The 900ft-long water feature on the 30-acre Burj Dubai Lake is due to be launched by developer Emaar later this year. The fountain is being designed by Californian firm WET. It sits between the Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building and the Dubai Mall. The fountain will feature 6,600 incandescent lights and 25 colour projectors, which will create over 1,000 different “water expressions”.
