£110m City office development is designed by Bennetts Associates

Work has started on the £110m 70 Mark Lane development site in the City of London, after the developers Mitsui Fudosan UK and Stanhope signed a new head lease and building agreement with co-freeholders the Drapers’ Company and the City Corporation.

The glass curtain-wall, 16-storey building, designed by Bennetts Associates, comprises 170,000ft2 of office space. Sir Robert McAlpine is construction manager, Davies Maguire + Whitby is structural engineer, Grontmij is service engineer and McGee is demolition contractor. Demolition is expected to be finished by April 2013 and the scheme is due to complete by October 2014.
