Greystar development is being built by Tide Construction and Vision Modular Systems
Construction work has kicked off on building modular student accommodation at the Savoy cinema site in west London.
Being developed by US build-to-rent investor Greystar, building work is being carried out by Tide Construction and Vision Modular Systems.
The firms are manufacturing the modules at their factory in Bedford, transporting them to Acton and then installing them on site.
Designed by HTA Design, the student homes will be made up of 338 modules in total and operated by Chapter, Greystar’s student accommodation brand. The Savoy development is the US firm’s ninth student scheme in London.
At seven storeys high, the development will feature 306 studio apartments, plus communal spaces including a café, student lounge, arcade and gym.
Troy Tomasik, managing mirector, Investments at Greystar, said: “Savoy Circus is a great example of what modular construction can achieve – a high quality product delivered at speed.”
Last month Greystar signed a deal with Telford Homes to construct nearly 900 rented homes in Nine Elms, Battersea.
