Consultant's Bristol office will oversee work on the £7.4m redevelopment of Sixways rugby stadium

Asset management consultant Currie & Brown’s Bristol office has been signed by Worcester Rugby Club to oversee work a £7.4m redevelopment at its Sixways Stadium.

The six-month contract will see the old east stand and north east corner block at the Warrior’s ground redeveloped to include offices and retail outlets as well as an extended 6,000-seater stand.

A substantial part of the project including the stand, shop and hospitality facilities are scheduled for completion by September 2008 in time for the start of the new Guinness Premiership season, shortly followed by new offices.

The consultant had already completed a scheme for the new multi-million pound new stand at Gloucester Rugby Club.

Jon Ross, divisional director at Currie & Brown in Bristol, said: “With projects like this the window of opportunity to get in and complete the work is often very short and that’s where our experience in working this type of environment gives clients confidence.

The rugby season is going to start when it is scheduled to start and that focuses everyone’s mind. What we do is keep that focus sharp but at the same time we ensure that what is ultimately delivered meets the clients expectations.”
