Building materials group Wolseley plans to tap growing US interest in the group by listing on the New York stock exchange this month.
Wolseley, which is also listed in Britain, said the move made sense as about 65% of its business and more than 20,000 staff were in the USA.
Executive chairman Richard Ireland said he had no plans to delist from the London stock exchange, despite limited interest in the stock.
Wolseley's share price has hovered around 450p throughout 2001.
