Trafalgar Place

The winners of London’s top planning awards were unveiled on Wednesday night.

Organised by business lobby group London First, contenders were nominated by the property sector with the final shortlist judged by a panel of experts from the Greater London Authority, London First, the Royal Town Planning Institute and London councils.

Housing scheme Trafalgar Place (pictured), developed by Lend Lease and designed by dRMM Architects, was the big winner, picking up the best new place to live title and overall Mayor’s Award.

The awards were presented by the mayor of London Boris Johnson at a ceremony at City Hall.

Johnson said: “Top quality, creative planning is absolutely crucial if London is to continue to be the best city in the world to live, work and visit.

“Congratulations to the winners who are leading the way in innovative design to ensure we are creating the homes, offices, open spaces and cultural venues that are not only attractive to our communities, but will stand the test of time.”
