Balfour Beatty and Laing O’Rourke among firms awarded places on ProCure23
Galliford Try, Kier and Wates are among the firms to have won places on a government construction framework which will include major NHS capital projects.
The Crown Commercial Service, in partnership with NHS England and NHS Improvement, confirmed the names of contractors awarded places on the £30bn ProCure23 framework yesterday. It is the fourth generation of a framework that has seen over £9bn spent on more than 1,200 projects across England in the past two decades.
Lots one to three relate to capital works for hospitals and will be open to NHS bodies in England.
Balfour Beatty and Laing O’Rourke won spots on lots four and five, which are available to all public sector bodies in the UK and will add additional capacity to the existing Construction Works and Associated Services framework.
Other firms to secure places include Graham, ISG, Morgan Sindall and Willmott Dixon.
Simon Corben, director of estates and facilities and head of profession at NHS England and NHS Improvement, said: “The framework has been split into three lots to enable greater reach into all aspects of the NHS’s capital requirements, such as increasing our estate’s capacity through new-builds, addressing backlog maintenance, or reconfiguring spaces to better meet the health and care needs of our local communities.”
James Wimpenny, executive director for Bam UK and Ireland, which was also awarded lots, said the firm was well placed to deliver the government’s healthcare estates needs.
Noting the company’s delivery of two NHS Nightingale hospitals and involvement in NEC4 Alliance contracts, he added: “We look forward keenly to continuing this transformative work with England’s healthcare facilities that benefits patients and the amazing people who look after them.”
