First phase of Milton Keynes scheme designed by Nichol Thomas includes 300 homes
Willmott Dixon has been appointed main contractor on a £26m retirement village in Milton Kenynes.
The project will see the construction of 300 homes, 184 of which will be created in the first phase of the contract, worth £26m, and which will be handed over in October 2011.
The homes will be self contained, and will be available for rent and private sale. The village is designed by Birmingham-based architect, Nichol Thomas, and is positioned around a central community hub area, offering residents, health and leisure facilities.
Willmott Dixon will build community amenities, including a gym and restaurant.
The village will be created in partnership with Milton Keynes council, the ExtraCare Charitable Trust, Milton Keynes Partnership, the Homes and Communities Agency and the Department of Health.
