Architects S&P and +3 and engineer Buro Happold are also lined-up to work on the project, which is due to start in the New Year.
Contractor Willmott Dixon has been appointed to work on the first of a two-stage build of a £33m leisure and community facility in Redcar and Cleveland.
The facility will include a six-lane 25m swimming pool, a second training and leisure pool, dance hall and a business centre in central Redcar.
Leisure facilities are being designed by S&P Architects, while +3 design the civic and business facilities and Buro Happold will provide engineering advice on the project.
Construction work will begin in the New Year and is due for completion in autumn 2013.
Willmott Dixon managing director for the North, Anthony Dillon, pledged to support local businesses and jobs throughout the project. He said: “This regeneration heralds an exciting new future for Redcar and its community, making a genuine lasting difference.”
The project is part of a bigger investment plan in Redcar which will see £291m of public investment.
Willmott Dixon is also working on building an 80ft ‘vertical pier’ on Redcar’s seafront as part of this wider regeneration scheme.
