Contract at HMP Lindholme in Doncaster takes contractor's work for the Prison Service past £20m.
Willmott Dixon Construction has picked up a £12m prison rebuilding contract to upgrade HMP Lindholme in Doncaster.
Work to build a visitor centre, segregation unit, gym block and kitchen at the prison will start in the spring, and is expected to finish in April 2007.
An existing education block will be refurbished, and several other buildings will be converted into education and workshop facilities.
Willmott Dixon’s Leeds office will take charge of the contracting, which forms part of the group’s national strategic alliance agreement with HM Prison Services.
The deal means that Willmott Dixon’s work for HMPS is now worth more than £20m. A similar scheme at HMP Nottingham is already under way.
