Contractor will build bus station, improve train station and deliver other works
Willmott Dixon has won a £25m contract to develop a transport hub in Lincoln, including a new bus station, improvements to the train station and other works.
The contractor will deliver a footbridge and multi-storey car park as part of the package.
The contract was awarded through the Scape national framework, where Willmott Dixon is the soul supplier.
Nick Heath, operations director for the East Midlands at Willmott Dixon, said: “This is another significant project for Lincoln that we are pleased to be delivering. The transport hub is a crucial aspect to the city centre’s regeneration, which will benefit residents, businesses and visitors – and importantly help to prepare the growing city for further development.
“The creation of the transport hub will help unlock the west side retail and Lindum Gate developments, creating a more accessible and fluid way for people to travel through the city. Features of the project such as the new footbridge will make the city easier to travel through for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers alike.
“We are all very excited to be part of such an important project which will have a considerable positive impact on the city and beyond.”
