Contractor appointed preferred bidder on Warwickshire schemes
Willmott Dixon has been appointed preferred bidder for a £38m contract to deliver five new elderly care homes in Warwickshire.
The contract is part of Housing 21’s PPP arrangement with Warwickshire County Council and could see the contractor managing the five schemes over a 30-year period.
Construction of the five care homes in Rugby, Bedworth, Atherstone, Alcester and Stratford-upon-Avon should begin in 2012.
When complete in 2014, the facilities will provide Warwickshire with 355 extra care units and 21 self-contained bungalows.
Willmott Dixon is teaming up with a consultancy team that includes Birmingham-based architect Glancy Nicholls, structural engineer Cox Turner Morse and QS Davis Landgon.
