Dutch firm Itho has entered the UK ventilation market where it is offering its whole house mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system
The HRU Eco 4 RF is aimed at new build dwellings built to high standards of air tightness. It provides a continuous balanced mechanical central air supply and extract of up to 225m3/h. An integral counter-flow heat exchanger can recover up to 91% of the heat from the discharge air, the company claims, which can be used to heat the air being brought in from the outside. The unit also features a summer bypass valve which diverts the air supply around the heat exchanger so the exit air from the dwelling doesn’t heat the incoming air.
