Debating chamber built by Taylor Woodrow awarded BREEAM Excellent rating by BRE.
The National Assembly for Wales debating chamber in Cardiff, built by Taylor Woodrow Construction, has been awarded an Excellent BREEAM rating by the BRE.
The managing director of Taylor Woodrow Construction, Tim Peach, said, "We are pleased and very proud to be associated with the Welsh Assembly project which meets the challenge of achieving the highest sustainability standards, including a BREEAM Excellent rating, but within a carefully managed commercial context. "
"Our experiences at Cardiff clearly demonstrate what can be achieved through working with an integrated team of client, contractor and designers and provide us with considerable knowledge and experience to take to other projects."
Matthew Winter, a spokesperson for the environmental engineers, BDSP Partnership said the award the low environmental impact the building had been achieved through sustainable building construction and careful use of low energy design solutions, incorporating renewable technologies.
Structural engineers on the project were Arup.
