Scheme will see 149 apartments and ccare suites built
Wates’ residential arm has been appointed by housing association and care provider Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) to build a £24m extra care village in York.
New Lodge’ will be located in the garden village of New Earswick and comprise of 149 apartments and care suites.
Work is scheduled to start on site this month with completion due in 2021
Jo Jamieson, managing director at Wates Residential North, said the scheme would “provide a much needed boost for extra care accommodation in New Earswick.”
This follows the news that Wates has won a £2.5m deal to renovate the ground floor of Derby City Council’s head offices. It will reconfigure and redevelop the existing space, with other additions including new meeting rooms.
Work will begin imminently on-site and is expected to complete in mid-2018.
