Scheme will finish in summer 2019
Wates has won a scheme for a new college building in Leeds.
The deal is worth £37.7m and will involve building a new campus for the Leeds City College Quarry Hill.
The campus will be home to the college’s Creative and Digital Arts and Health and Social Sciences departments. Work is due to finish by summer 2019.
The entire scheme is costing £57m and is in part being bankrolled by a £33m grant from the Leeds City Region Local Growth Deal.
It will be built in the Eastgate area of the city centre and will be go up next to the Leeds College of Music and West Yorkshire Playhouse – as well as the Northern Ballet Theatre, which was built by Wates back in 2010.
Architect on the scheme is Ellis Williams.
