Mark Tant charged with developing new strategy to expand Wates private housing work
Wates has appointed ex-Shepherd Construction director Mark Tant to head up its residential arm.
Wates has announced that Tant, who has 29 years experience in the industry, will be the company’s new managing director of residential. He has been charged with expanding the company’s private housing portfolio.
He joins Wates from Shepherd Construction, where he was managing director of the company’s south region, and contributed to expanding its presence in London.
Tant will develop a strategy to facilitate the growth of Wates’ private residential portfolio of work, which currently includes Knight Dragon’s regeneration of Greenwich Peninsula.
Dave Smith, chief operating officer and managing director of Wates Construction, said: “The gathering pace of the recovering economy and the rise in investment in the private residential market presents us with an opportunity to broaden our extensive expertise in the sector.
“Mark’s appointment will bring fresh perspective to substantially boost our expansion into this rapidly growing market, to develop new client relationships and ultimately build on our excellent work in the sector to date.”
