Work set to finish in 2026
Wates has been appointed as main contractor on a £21m regeneration scheme in Coventry.
The firm has been asked by housing association Citizen Housing to demolish the 144-home Vincent Wyles House and replace it with a new 93-home block.
It will also carry out a refurbishment of the adjacent 15-storey William Malcolm House, which houses 112 flats.
The work is scheduled to take around four years and be completed by 2026.
A survey of residents in 2019 found that just one in five said the estate was a good place to live and 40% said the area needed to be improved, with crime and anti-social behaviour topping the list of concerns.
