The London borough of Wandsworth will invite contractors to bid for its £300m Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme later this month.
At an open day on 29 June, Wandsworth council will outline detailed plans that cover 16 secondary schools.
A shortlist of three will be drawn up by September and final bids are due by July 2010. The winning candidate will be appointed for an initial perid of ten years.
Council leader Edward Lister said: “The Wandsworth BSF programme has already attracted substantial interest. It’s a terrific opportunity to work with one of the country’s leading authorities with a track record for excellence in education.”
The bidders’ open day will take place at the Bank of England sports ground in Roehampton, Surrey.
