Rafael Viñoly’s Atlas Building for the University of Wagingen in the Netherlands was due to open yesterday.
The cube-shaped building has an external concrete structure, that means it is almost entirely free of columns. It will house the environmental sciences department. Viñoly said:
“The building is a part of an overall composition that creates a holistic vision for this part of the campus, with the garden as centrepiece.”
