Construction due to begin early next year

The University of Salford has announced a revamp of its campus and grounds in a first phase development worth £75m..

The existing Chapman Building at the Peel Park campus will be refurbished and extended. A new student village will also be constructed including a programme of public space improvements with outdoor lecture theatres and performance zones.

Planning consent for the Chapman building has already been granted and works are expected to commence early next year. Plans for the arts building will be submitted next month.

Fairhurst Design Group have been commissioned to design the Chapman Building while Stride Treglown are the architects for the arts building.

Dr Adrian Graves, the university’s deputy vice-chancellor, said: “Our campus plan is an incredibly exciting development in the life of the university.

“Our plans will forever transform the campus and give our students access to outstanding facilities and an experience of unparalleled quality.”
