Boyes Rees Architects-designed student accommodation one of eight winners of the 2012 Constructing Excellence in Wales Awards
The student halls at the University of Glamorgan were one of eight winners at the 2012 Constructing Excellence in Wales Awards.
The student accommodation, built by Vinci Construction and designed by Boyes Rees Architects, uses sustainable materials throughout, solar photovoltaic panels and is entirely naturally ventilated.
Plus, it is located near good public transport links and has energy efficient lighting systems.
Nick Tune, director of Building Research Establishment (BRE) Wales, said: “These buildings showcase genuine sustainability and represent some of the best examples of sustainable design and construction in the UK.”
