Housing contractor appointed to deliver 327-home canalside development in Islington
Specialist housing contractor United House has been awarded a £57.6m contract to build a mixed-use development on Wharf Road in Islington, London.
The A2Dominion Group appointed United House to deliver the scheme designed by architect Fraser Brown MacKenna and designer Stephen Marshall.
The canalside development includes 327 homes in four blocks ranging from seven to 10 storeys, with rooftop play areas and terraces, plus nearly 6,000ft2 of commercial space. All the apartments will meet Code for Sustainable Homes level 4 and commercial spaces will meet BREEAM excellent.
United House plans to use BIM to construct the scheme.
