Client buys a new site for 570-bed project
Unite has unveiled plans for a new £35m student accommodation project in Sheffield after acquiring a site in the city.
The site is planned to provide 570 beds and is expected to be ready for the start of the 2019-20 academic year.
The acquisition increases the Unite’s development pipeline to over 5,500 beds and will take the number of student beds by Unite in Sheffield to 4,300 across nine properties.
Richard Simpson, group property director for Unite Students, said: “Sheffield is a key city for Unite and we will be able to drive efficiencies from our scale and enhance services to our customers and university partners.
“We continue to see good opportunities to secure land alongside leading regional Universities to supplement our development pipeline for delivery in 2019 and 2020.”
