The UK Green Building Council launches first in series of sustainability distance learning courses
The UK Green Building Council is to launch a series of on-line courses on sustainability.
The introductory course which launches in early September is aimed at professionals working in the built environment. It aims to promote a common language on sustainability, explaining what it is and how it impacts on the built environment, the risks and opportunities and how to champion it within an organisation. The course is being run in conjunction with the College of Estate Management.
This will be followed up later in the year by a leadership course which has been developed with Cambridge University.
The courses will be delivered by distance learning and the introductory one will equate to eight hours of continuous professional development. It will be of two weeks duration, during which time delegates will study five modules and sit an assessment at the end.
This is the UK-GBC’s first foray into training and development. It comes off the back of a survey it ran last year which highlighted the need for leadership in developing skills in the area of sustaianbility.
