Firms given until later next month to send in bids
The University of East London (UEL) is looking for private sector partners to help with plans to redevelop its campus in Stratford.
UEL wants a firm that can take on a £35m design, build, finance and operate contract for the project.
Currently, the university has a waterfront campus near the Royal Albert Docks and the existing Stratford Campus, which is home to UEL’s School of Education and Communities and Hospital and Primary Care Training Hub. The Stratford Campus is centred on the grade II-listed University House.
This autumn, University College London will join UEL in Stratford, as the phased launch of its new campus begins with the opening of One Pool Street.
The campus, built by Mace, will open fully the following autumn after the completion of the eight floor, Stanton Williams-designed Marshgate building.
Firms have until 24 June to tender for the UEL project, with the contract to run from February 2023 to October 2025.
