Two people are admitted to hospital following accident on South London construction site
Two people have been taken to hospital following an accident on a construction site in Kennington this afternoon.
It is understood that a concrete slab fell from a joist on the site on Brixton Road, south London, injuring two people. Four ambulances, the police and fire brigade were called to the site at 1.20pm.
A witness said that one person, believed to be a worker, was stretchered away and one was taken away in a wheelchair. It is not known how serious the injuries are.
Scotland Yard confirmed that police had been called to the incident, which is now being investigated by the HSE.
