Bovis Lend Lease and Willmott Dixon in final selection stage to work on 16 schools

Bovis Lend Lease and Willmott Dixon are to compete for a £300m Wandsworth BSF contract after being selected for the final stage of the tendering process.

The project will cover new build and remodelling in 16 schools in the borough, but to win the contract the two companies will be asked to provide detailed plans for work on two sample schools, Southfields Community College and Burntwood School. Work on both schemes will start in spring 2011.

Edward Lister, leader of Wandsworth council, said: “We’re delighted to announce our final shortlist of two for this exciting project. BSF will completely transform the borough’s secondary schools and will help us provide the best possible education to all the borough’s children.”

A preferred bidder is expected to be chosen by the end of July.
