Firm wins project management role on mixed-use scheme at 1-5 Grosvenor Place
Turner & Townsend has won the hotly contested race to project manage the £250m Grosvenor Place scheme in Belgravia in west London.
The consultant overcame competition from Davis Langdon, Gardiner & Theobald Management Services and Second London Wall for the role, industry sources said.
Turner & Townsend will work with joint-venture clients Grosvenor and Derwent London on plans for a 1.5 acre mixed-use scheme at 1-5 Grosvenor Place.
The clients propose to redevelop the existing 168,000ft2 office building into a scheme comprising a luxury hotel and commercial and residential elements.
Grosvenor and Derwent London entered a joint venture to redevelop the prime west London site adjacent to Hyde Park Corner in October last year.
Derwent London is acting as asset manager, while Grosvenor is acting as development manager.
Subject to planning consent the scheme could commence in 2014.
Grosevnor, Derwent London and Turner & Townsend declined to comment.
