T&T to work on phase one of £16m "Belfast: Streets Ahead" project aimed at raising city’s profile
Turner & Townsend has been appointed to provide detailed costing for phase one of the £16m Belfast City Centre regeneration scheme.
George McComish, associate director at T&T, said: “The Belfast regeneration will benefit many of its stakeholders, including Turner & Townsend which has just recently relocated to new premises in the city centre.”
The project, working under the banner “Belfast: Streets Ahead”, is the vision of the Department for Social Development to raise the quality and profile of the city as an international destination.
Its aim is to bring in investment from outside Northern Ireland, encourage business development, and contribute to a reduction in crime by making the city centre safer and more people-friendly with well lit and active streets.
The entire development is to be phased over a 10 year period, with the first phase completing in 2009.
