Council to announce main contractor shortly
Turner & Townsend has been chosen to provide project and cost management services on the £6bn Meridian Water regeneration scheme.
The consultant has been appointed by Enfield council to manage infrastructure work at the project.
The 25-year project will see the Meridian Water site, which is located on the edge of the Lee Valley Regional Park, provide 10,000 new homes..
Enfield council has successfully secured a Housing Infrastructure Fund grant through the housing department to deliver the enabling works.
This will provide greater site-wide connectivity through movement corridors and utilities, including new bridges, flood attenuation and contamination remediation, new public realm and highways. Planning permission for the works was secured earlier this year.
Turner & Townsend will manage the main contractor through detailed design and into delivery.
The council has confirmed it will shortly announce the contractor to carry out this work from a shortlist it announced earlier this year.
Bam Nuttall, Vinci and VolkerFitzpatrick were shortlisted to tender for the work, worth £135m, which could go to one, two or all three firms in January.
