Frank Gehry, the deconstructivist architect, is to celebrate his 80th birthday this weekend

The Canadian-American, whose works include the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao and the Walt Disney concert hall in Los Angeles, has projects coming out of the ground in Norway, the US and Abu Dhabi. Shown here is a detail of the undulating roof trellis of the architect’s Lou Ruvo Brain Institute, a $70m (£47m) medical centre currently under construction in Las Vegas.
