Chief executive John White resigns saying its time for a “fresh pair of hands” in leadership role
The chief executive of the Timber Trade Federation (TTF) John White has resigned, saying its time for a “fresh pair of hands” in the role.
White, who has been at the Federation for nine years, said: ‘It has been both an honour and privilege to lead the TTF team during a period when the reputation of timber has risen due to the sheer hard work of the TTF and its members.
“We are now at a point where I believe that our industry is entering a golden age for timber and likewise the industry’s representational structure is set to develop positively.
“It is an opportunity that it is right for a fresh pair of hands to grasp and comes at a time when it is right for me personally to develop professionally with a new challenge.”
Stephen King, president of the Federation, said: “John has given so much of himself to both his position as Chief Executive at the TTF and the wider industry.
“He is responsible for raising the profile of the industry both at Government level and in Europe and for that we owe him a debt of gratitude. During his time we have seen the membership double and he has put due diligence at the heart of the industry landscape”.
