Masonite engineered timber I-Joists, used as part of the Tradis closed-panel wall and roof system, have been selected for a development of four luxury low-energy homes near Penrith by the developer Eden Frame

The system consists of pre-insulated panels which incorporate twice the level of insulation required by Building Regulations. This timber frame wall and warm roof system comprises Masonite engineered timber I-joists and beams, Panelvent sheathing boards, Warmcel 500 insulation made from recycled newspaper and Paneline internal sheathing board, and a vapour-control layer designed to minimise the vapour resistance difference between the warm and cold side of the panel.

The I-Joists are manufactured using wood fibre certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
