Pair appoint fill procurement and HR roles
Tilbury Douglas and Laing O’Rourke have both made senior hires with the former bringing in a new procurement and supply chain director from collapsed civils specialist NMCN.
Jamie Swanston joins Tilbury Douglas after 20 months at NMCN which sank last month after 75 years of trading.
He was the firm’s procurement and supply chain director and will reprise the role at his new employer.
NMCN collapsed at the start of October with a report by the administrators later revealing that close to 150 firms have been left owed £100,000 or more by its implosion.
Swanston spent more than six years in procurement at Laing O’Rourke which has appointed a new head of people for its Europe hub.
Rae Avatar Barnett joined earlier this week and comes from energy business Centrica, where she worked in commercial transformation, HR delivery and talent management.
O’Rourke’s Europe hub includes the firm’s UK, Middle East and Canada operations and its largest business, Laing O’Rourke plc, which last week said that pre-tax profit in the year to March 2021 had more than halved to £4.9m on turnover down 8% to £1.5bn.
