WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) works to encourage and enable both businesses and consumers to be more efficient in their use of materials and to recycle more things, more often.
One of our key objectives is to work with the construction industry to halve waste to landfill by 2012.
We provide tools and guidance to help:
- reduce waste and costs;
- reuse recovered materials; and
- recycle more.
We were delighted to sponsor the Building Award for Sustainable Construction for the second consecutive year.
This new award recognised commitment to efficient use of materials in construction. It rewarded best practice initiatives that minimise onsite waste, manage waste effectively for recycling materials. The award was open to both private and public sector clients, and the entire supply chain: contractors, engineers, consultants, architect, and manufacturers.
