His design for the Olympic site may be a long way off, but artist Anish Kapoor’s latest project in Middlesbrough is taking shape

The massive rings that form the structure of the £2.7m Temenos will be lifted into place next week, ready for the completion of the sculpture in late spring. Temenos is the first of the Tees Valley Giants – the world’s biggest public art project. The Giants will eventually comprise five works of art across the Tees Valley by Kapoor and his long-term collaborator, structural designer Cecil Balmond. The total cost will be £15m.
