Winners at the 2008 Building Sustainability Awards celebrated on Tuesday after picking up gongs for contributions to eco living.
Wates had a double triumph, scooping the sustainable contractor and sustainability champion awards. Other winners included Hopkins Architects, housebuilder Crest Nicholson and engineer Max Fordham. Pooran Desai, co-founder of Bioregional Quintain, picked up the sustainability leadership award. More than 500 guests turned out to watch BBC journalist Chris Hollins present the prizes at the Hilton Park Lane in Central London. The event was organised in association with the Green Building Council.
