This dining pavilion at The Children’s Hospital in Great Ormond Street, central London, has just been completed by architect SpacelabUK.
Known as the Orangery, it will provide a dining area for staff and patients as well as space for exhibitions and entertainment. The glass-fronted facade allows the maximum amount of light to enter the building, an effect aided by glazed apertures between roof planes. The roof is to be clad in zinc, forming a giant zinc sculpture when viewed from above.
