French architect Vincent Callebaut has designed a whale-shaped floating garden to drift up the Thames while purifying its waters

The exterior of the Physalia would have a layer of titanium dioxide, which reacts with ultraviolet rays to clean the river, and water is also pumped through the gardens, which biologically filter out pollutants. The craft would generate all the power it needs from the sun.
