Heneghan Peng Architects and engineer Adams Kara Taylor have won the competition to design a footbridge at the heart of the Olympic park.
The bridge will span 26m over the River Lea and will be on the concourse between the Olympic stadium, the aquatics centre and basketball arena. During the Olympics the width of the bridge will be 55m, and after the Games, sections will be removed to create two 6.5m bridges either side of Carpenters Lock (pictured).
