Retail Park at former Wisbech greyhound stadium will feature an eight-screen cinema and restaurant complex

Tesco has won approval for a £50m retail park at Wisbech in Cambridgeshire.

In a joint venture with developer Cromwell Retail Park, Tesco will develop a retail scheme at the former Wisbech greyhound stadium site.

The 25,000m² scheme will see the greyhound stadium transformed into a 10,200m² Tesco food superstore, a restaurant complex and an eight-screen cinema.

A retail park spanning 10,400m² will be developed on the neighbouring old Tesco site. It is expected the overall development will pave the way for infrastructural improvements in the town.

Construction on the two phase development begins later this with overall completion scheduled for late autumn 2013.
